Young, Tim croppedTim Young is a Geriatric Care Manager for Piedmont Hospital’s 60 Plus Program.  Sixty Plus is a free service to patients of Piedmont Hospital.  Given the complex and sometimes bewildering process of navigating the after effects of a geriatric illness or injury, Tim and two other Sixty Plus geriatric care manager’s provide resources, advice and counsel to patients and their families on all manner of topics.  Tim shares his passion for helping seniors not only via his job at Piedmont, but also through the Alzheimer’s Association, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Lutheran Services of Georgia and through the Buckhead Christian Ministry (a community food pantry and emergency assistance program).  To learn more about these organizations, or Sixty Plus, contact Tim at timothy.young@piedmont.org, or call the Sixty Plus Helpline at (404) 605-3867.

Dunham, Kelly croppedOur next guest, Atlanta native Kelly Dunham, developed a passion for helping others through volunteer work in a nursing home as a youth.  Always energetic and athletic, Kelly has a dream job – she get’s paid to play with her patients.  Kelly would agree – she loves her job at Gwinnett Medical Center’s Glancy Rehabilitation Center.  As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Kelly works with stroke patients, brain injury victims and many others as they try to regain a semblance of normalcy in their lives after their stay at Glancy.  Kelly even helps clients with their golf game!  One of her passions is her 2nd Thursday Stroke Support Group held at the Glancy center.  To learn more about Glancy and its programs, go to www.gwinnettmedicalcenter.com, or call Kelly directly at (678) 312-6167.

Kelleman, Wally croppedN. Wallace Kelleman, “Wally” to her friends, is nearly an institution in the Atlanta Elder Law community.  A lifelong student, Wally attended law school in the late 1980s, and graduated with two law degrees – one from Western New England College of Law, and one from Emory School of Law.  After 38 years as an RN, Wally recognized a gaping hole in the services available to Atlanta’s senior population, and formed The Kelleman Law Firm.  As one might expect, Wally spends time with clients helping with a broad range of issues, including estate planning and asset protection.  But more importantly, in Wally’s own words, she is “the conscience of the client or family.”  She is asking the difficult questions like, “who will support you when you are no longer able to support yourself?”  Wally can be reached via e-mail at attynwk@aol.com, or by phone at (770) 736-0369.
