Would You Prefer a Cold Impersonal Phone Call or a Warm In-person Meeting?

ArchbaldWhile completing her MBA, Victoria Archable, worked for several large corporations through the 80s and 90s including Proctor & Gamble, Purina and Pillsbury.  Several years later she decided to relocate to Atlanta and began the process of finding a company where she could combine her past sales experience with her desire to help the senior population. “CarePatrol, a free senior housing placement service that helps families find independent living, assisted living, memory care and in-home care options”, did just that.  Victoria shares that CarePatrol “trains its advisors to help families to help themselves. Training and passion is what separates CarePatrol from other placement services”.

CarePatrol’s success is built on personalized, face-to-face, service. Their advisors meet with each client during the “CareDiscovery” process to help identify the most appropriate communities and personally tour those communities as an advocate for the family assuring that the right issues are discussed. Afterwards, the advisor meets again with the family to lend assistance through the decision-making process. Once the client has moved into a facility, or services have begun in the home, the advisor continues to check with the client to assure continued satisfaction. Recent studies have shown that CarePatrol services can have a dramatic effect on readmission rates, reducing them by as much as 45%. Personalized service, combined with cost effectiveness, results in a win-win situation.

“Helping seniors and their families is a way to give back to the community and a gift of new life”. If you’re interested in this cost effective, personalized placement service, check out CarePatrol’s web site at: www.CarePatrol.com or call Victoria Archable at 404-625-8177

The Art of Recovery

SaludeDr. Alan Wang graduated from the University of Kentucky, and did his medical training at Emory.  After 15 years working in the hospital setting, Dr. Wang became associated with Salude to “reform transitional care within the outpatient environment”.  Salude is unlike any outpatient recovery center in the country, in that its “100% dedicated to recovery services”; there is no long term care practiced.  Every patient must meet specific criteria and be able to participate in at least 3 hours of intense therapy per day, 7 days per week.  Ninety-eight percent of Salude’s patients return home within an average of three weeks as a result of this regiment.  “The recovery environment plays an equally important part in a patients recovery”, shared Wang.  “I truly believe that the recovery is an art in which the care environment plays a pivotal role in the recovery process.”

Salude, which opened in June of 2014, is a state of the art, 46,600 square-foot facility.  It offers a serene, private setting paired with a clinical and customer-service experience not generally found in health care facilities.  With 64 upscale, private rooms and bathrooms; a 3,000 square-foot rehab area; 24/7 room service; on-site chef-prepared cuisine; wooded outdoor space with walking paths; fully equipped wireless technology; and award winning art displays and sculptures, “It’s more like a luxury hotel,” Wang explains.  “How can we help our patients have a near perfect experience when it comes to details? Because we believe that’s part of the recovery process.”  Surprisingly all of this is provided at greater cost efficiencies than inpatient care.

If you or a loved one is in need of a recovery program, check out Saludes – Art of Recovery at www.Salude.com or call 404-964-7594.

Oasis Senior Advisors, personalized approach can’t be beat – and it’s FREE!

OasisCathy Jobe, the sixteenth franchisee of Oasis Senior Advisors, hails from Green Bay, WI and is a true Green Bay Packer “Cheesehead”.  After attended college at Arizona State and graduating with a degree in communication, she became a human resource and communication manager in the Midwest.  Cathy’s husband was relocated to Atlanta and for the next 16 years Cathy was a stay-at-home mom.  After she decided to return to the work force, Cathy and her husband examined several different opportunities until they came across Oasis Senior Advisors. Once, she and her husband learned that Oasis’ focus is to assist the individual in finding the “right place”, they were sold. Cathy’s ability to problem solve coupled with this foundational focus are the principle differentiators.  “I thrive best when helping people so joining the Oasis team was a perfect fit!”

Located in Columbia MD, a suburb of Baltimore, Oasis Senior Advisors began with the guiding principal that seniors deserve the personal attention of an Advisor.  Their advisor’s work one-on-one, guiding the individual through the maze of health care needs, budget concerns, personal and geographic preferences, never sending the client a generic list of communities that hasn’t been qualified.  Options are narrowed downed, and the Advisor will schedule tours and accompany the individual to ensure all of their questions are addressed. And it’s FREE to the client.

If this one-on-one, personal service is what you want, check out Oasis Senior Advisors’ web site at roswell.oasissenioradvisors.com or call Cathy at 770-891-5024.

“Don’t Be Afraid to Talk with the Doc” – The Longstreet Clinic on Eugeria! Radio!

IMG_0188Dr. Jeffrey Garrett, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, joined The Longstreet Clinic (TLC) in early 2015.  Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Garrett attended medical school at East Carolina University, completing his residency at Wake Forest University and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Tampa General Hospital.  His specialty is joint replacement, specifically hip replacement.  Margaret Spratlin, a native Georgian, has been in the medical profession her entire career and joined TLC in 2014.  Both acknowledged that TLC’s strong leadership of CEO Mimi Collins, and their centralized administration allow the physicians and health care practitioners “focus on the patients, not paperwork”.

A new innovated surgical procedure, anterior approach hip replacement, has Dr. Garrett very excited about post-operative outcomes.  This procedure inflicts far less trauma to the large muscle groups which greatly improves the recovery time.  Many patients are up walking within 24 hours of the surgery and home the next day.  Dr. Garrett says, “Patients just recover better if they are in their own home and surroundings!”  Though the idea of being discharged so soon after major surgery can be scary, Dr. Garrett believes that it’s really the fear of the unknown that has to be addressed.  “It’s an educational process; speaking in a language that is easily understood.  Don’t be afraid to talk with the doc.” Data suggests that the number of joint replacements will double in the next twenty years.   Dr. Garrett and The Longstreet Clinic coupled with the anterior approach hip replacement procedure is well positioned “to deliver more efficient and high quality medical care in a changing environment.”

If this new procedure or The Longstreet Clinic has captured your interest, find out more on their web site: www.longstreetclinic.com, or call 770-533-4745.

“Professional Daughter” Provides Peace of Mind for Seniors and Their Families!

Merkel, MandyHome to Mandy Merkel is Johannesburg, South Africa.  The aging process, and how families handle it, is one of the big cultural differences between South Africa and the United States. In South Africa, she says, the elderly are esteemed and valued, and typically live with their families when they can no longer take care of themselves. Only when they do not have any family do they consider moving to Assisted Living Facilities, as we know them.

Mandy received her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology at Emory University and began her career at the Veterans Administration. She then did Rehabilitation Services for an Assisted Living Facility.  She found that seniors and their families often felt they had “no options” and it was there that her idea for Senior Resource Consulting was born.  Senior Resource Consulting is dedicated to empowering seniors and their adult children to have more control over the complex process of finding appropriate senior housing.

After 15 years in the Senior Services industry, Mandy now calls herself a “Professional Daughter.” She or her like-minded associate Kendall happily give free phone consults to families that are often overwhelmed with the bewildering array of choices and considerations as their loved ones age. The typical next step is for Mandy or Kendall to meet face to face with the client and family, bringing a wealth of knowledge, options and resources to the table, in order to enable clients and their families to make informed decisions about their future.

Don’t be overwhelmed and immobilized by the inevitable….  Listen to this complete Eugeria! Radio broadcast to learn more!  Visit Senior Resource Consulting on the web here, or call Mandy at 404-786-7789.

Modern Emergent Care – “The New ER Alternative”

GutierrezSeveral years ago, Dr. Ray Gutierrez, a board-certified emergency medical physician, looked at the emerging trends in healthcare and was impressed to “do something right” for his community.  That desire helped birth Modern Emergent Care, a comprehensive, upscale medical facility providing urgent care plus emergency room services.  “The difference begins with our name” and “ends with how you feel when you leave”, explains Dr. “Ray”.  “We want to provide luxury accommodations and first class care at a fraction of the cost” (if that same care were delivered in an ER).  Unlike urgent care centers, Modern Emergent Care is equipped to handle all diagnostic procedures in-house.  “You’re seen in twenty minutes and typically out the door in two hours”.  And, Modern Emergent Care accepts most health insurance plans.  All of the 6 board-certified ER physicians, nurses and assistants are like-minded in delivering the right care, at the right time for the right cost.

How would the customer know to use Modern Emergent Care for a non-life-threatening condition?    “If the customer can drive themselves to our location, we can handle it all”.  In the event that a patient needs admission to a hospital, Modern Emergent Care can handle that too with priority in-patient transfer privileges with most of the local hospitals.

If you’re interested in more information regarding this emerging health care trend in emergency care, check out Modern Emergent Care’s web site at: www.modernemergentcare.com or given them a call at: 404-334-3000.

“Committed to enriching the lives of their patients” – Golden LivingCenter of Dunwoody!

After relocating from Massachusetts to Atlanta, Pauline Daley started with Golden LivingCenters over 15 years ago. As the Admissions Director, Pauline is the patient’s first Golden LivingCenter contact and she is “committed to enriching each person she touches”. Today Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance are more complex than ever before and as a result overwhelming for most individuals in making informed decisions.  Pauline “loves educating the family” about the rehabilitation process.

Coming out of the hospital environment to work at Golden LivingCenters, Kimberly Collins, Director of Rehabilitation, “fell in love with the patients”.  The rehabilitation environment afforded Kimberly the time and opportunity to develop relationships with her patients.  “By focusing on the individual, you are providing the fuel for better and higher quality outcomes”.

Golden LivingCenter – Dunwoody strives daily to make their patients “…feel comfortable, never forgetting that the patient has come to them for specific healthcare needs”.

If you require rehabilitation after surgery or an illness, and Golden LivingCenter – Dunwoody’s individually customized care is for you, call them at 404-256-5131 or visit their web site at www.goldenlivingcenters.com.
