But I Don’t Want Chinese Food!!! Keystone Conflict Solutions on Eugeria! Radio!

Rebecca Zimmerman 2A native New Yorker, Rebecca Zimmerman moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1977 to attend Emory Law School.  After obtaining her law degree Rebecca built a successful law practice while she and her husband grew a successful school photography business. Later Rebecca was eager to use her juris prudence skills in a unique way to help seniors and their families. After the photography business was sold, Rebecca opened an elder care mediation service named Keystone Conflict Solutions.

Keystone Conflict Resolution employs mediation techniques that empower siblings to make informed and beneficial decisions on the part of the aging parents.  The mediator doesn’t try to solve the conflict, but creates a spirit of compromise and negotiation that allows self-determining solutions.  Three key principles guide the process; self-determination, impartiality and confidentiality.  The mediation is short and cost effective when compared to legal action.

If Elder Care Mediation is of interest, you can contact Rebecca at 404-314-7228 or visit the Keystone Conflict Solutions web site at www.KCSMediation.com.

I Should Have Been and Engineer! 101Mobility on Eugeria! Radio!

Garol OrrA native Georgian, Garol Orr describes herself as a marketing professional that should have been an engineer. As a Mobility Specialist/Certified Aging in Place Specialist and Partner with 101Mobility she discovered that putting things together that help her clients reach their personal mobility goals is what Garol loves best about her job.

After attending North Georgia College and starting her career in marketing with a local beverage company, a mobility problem with her grandmother lead Garol to a new career. An extensive product line, and “building things that helped people” was what attracted Garol to 101Mobility.  101Mobility “assists clients in finding the mobility equipment that they need to keep their homes or businesses comfortable and safe”.  101Mobility sells and rents mobility equipment; stair lifts; wheelchairs; ramps; scooters; auto lifts; vertical platform lifts; pool lifts; patient lifts and residential elevators, but their customer service “is what it’s all about”, providing all of the installation and service in-house with technicians/licensed elevator mechanics who can meet the challenge of the most difficult customized installations.  Service during the sale, the installation and most importantly for the life of the equipment is what distinguishes 101Mobility from the competition.

Reverse for Purchase – Terry Bowser on Eugeria! Radio!

Bowser 2015Reared in southwest Pennsylvania, our guest, Terry Bowser earned a degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  While vacationing in Myrtle Beach, Terry fell in love with the south, and decided to stay. Terry has been in Atlanta for 30 years and works as a Reverse Mortgage Advisor for CBC National Bank.

Reverse Mortgages have been around for over 30 years, and though originally unregulated, today’s reverse mortgages are safe, regulated and insured by the federal government.  These “home equity loans” allow the homeowner to tap into their home’s equity, while allowing them to remain the holder of the deed. Payment–free, a Reverse Mortgage is a non-recourse loan and can be used for any purpose.

A new “retirement benefit” of a Reverse Mortgage is the “Reverse for Purchase” which allows the retiree to purchase a new primary home and initiate a Reverse Mortgage all in a single transaction.  This is especially attractive to seniors relocating to be close to their children.  They own their home and have the cash from the Reverse Mortgage to use for anything from helping pay for the grandchildrens’ education to funding their home care and practical needs.

To hear more about reverse mortgages or CBC National Bank, please contact Terry Bowser at 404-642-6021, or email him at terry.bowser@cbcnationalbank.com.

“Breathe again” in time of high stress and uncertainty – Guardian Hospice on Eugeria! Radio!

Guardian Hospice 2015While his father struggled with COPD, Steve Senay learned that, “Hospice is not what it used to be”. This positive personal experience led Steve into the hospice arena.  After graduating from the University of Georgia and spending over twenty years in the medical field, Steve wasn’t looking for a career change, rather it came looking for him.  Guardian Home Care and Hospice, part of the AccentCare family of companies that offers a continuum of care and community-based service convinced Steve to combine his professional and person experience and reach out to those hurting families during the time they feel the most pressure, stress and uncertainty.  “The best thing that I do is meet with the families and give them relief and support, allowing them to be the family and not just the care-giver”.

“Guardian Hospice is largely for the family”, providing Medicare-certified home healthcare and hospice, licensed home health and homecare services. Guarding Hospices’ team of professionals uses the latest technology, coupled with caring hands, to ensure that the family get the assistance they need to improve the quality of their patients’ lives while maintaining their dignity.  Their model of delivering care “focuses on the family as much as the patient”.  That’s the differentiator… that’s their secret to success!

If this unique way of caring for your loved one interests you contact Steve at 770-458-1624 or visit Guardian’s web site at: www.accentcare.com.

Creative Funding for Long Term Care

Giglio, MikeAfter retiring from the US Coast Guard Service, Mike Giglio wanted to own his own business while also serving the needs of seniors.  Mike started Georgia Life Settlements LLC located in Milton, Georgia.  Georgia Life Settlement wants to “earn your trust and confidence through a Life Settlement that can be an unexpected blessing that brings peace of mind during a period of great need.”

What is a Life Settlement?  It’s the sale of an asset, the life insurance policy, “to a third party for more than its accumulated cash surrender value but less that then policy’s face value” or death benefit. The U.S. Supreme Court case, Grigsby v. Russell, 22 U.S. 149(1911) established a life insurance policy as private property that can be assigned at the will of the owner.  Therefore, the policy is an asset that may be sold.  So rather than continue to pay for a policy that you no longer need or can afford, a Life Settlement can be a blessing.

If this unique approach to utilizing your life insurance as a long term care investment is of interest, call Mike Giglio at 770-715-4493 or visit Georgia Life Settlements web site at: www.georgialifesettlements.com.
